The brief for this project was set by the AIDS charity HOPEHIV.
To raise money the charity sets an interesting challenge by giving away £10.00 to an individual, before giving them 3 options of response.
1. Give the money back.
2. Keep the money (if you need it more than those suffering with HIV).
3. Turn £10.00 into >£100.00.
Accepting the challenge, this project is the response to the latter option. Using the idea of how people assign 'worth' to an object, I designed a series of prints where the focus of value is with the form and scale of the humble price label. As the size of the price label increases the value/price of the print also increases. The type in each print is letterpressed; the price labels are gold-foiled. Each print is in an edition of 5.
